A Docuweb on a trip? It’s the ship’s log of an adventure: encounters, comments upon landscapes, address book & scrapbook, living images that talks. This, and more is brought to us via the multimedia technology.

The 10 members of the Trinôme production team are currently shooting a documentary series on the Americas: PLEIN SUD, the southern journey. During a period of 3 months and a half, a cameraman will be filming true, tender and unusual moments that will be shown via the Docuweb. It is in fact just another way to look beyond the mirror.

These images, added to telephone calls, e-mails and the reports that the team sends to Montréal, constitute the firsts ingredients of the Docuweb.

This weekly Webroadmovie has a Website where the web surfer can follow an itinerary, discover a country and texts upon history, learn about the geography, cook typical recipes, identify cultures, examine politics, understand the hazards of economy, and can obtain a direct access to other sites. But above all, it gives the chance to anyone who visits this site to live in every way the stages of the great journey as well as seeing and hearing 10 travellers on the road of 13 american countries.

Almost instantaneously, the clips bring us sensations of wonder, feelings of strangeness, discoveries, people, pieces of luck and emotions behind the camera of PLEIN SUD, the southern journey. The web surfer is in the heart of the event.

TV5 will be broadcasting the 13 stages of this long journey (22 000 kilometers) starting Sunday, February 17 2002, every Sunday from 6pm to 7 pm for 13 weeks.
