Pierre-Paul
changer d'air!"
Pierre-Paul is the eldest of the Larivière brothers. Although
he started out in the music and radio industry, Pierre-Paul produced
the series and devised its Internet layout; in a way, PLEIN
SUD, the southern journey is his pet project. Pierre-Paul believes
in the future of television, in its transformation through new connections
and means of access which equally deal with the container and its contents.
Stable, Pierre-Paul has been with Trinôme for 10 years. To get
a clearer grasp of the countries lined ahead, Pierre-Paul set out to
learn Spanish which he now speaks fluently. He is interested in developing
a better understanding of other people, to get to know them from within,
and discuss subjects he is not particularly familiar with. Its
all in a days work for our producer!
Martin
Leclerc / cameraman
"J'ai très hâte de prendre des ../images du désert
du Chili, de la Patagonie... en fait, de tout et pas seulement pour
faire des ../images, surtout pour y être!"
A highly prized cameraman, Martin Leclerc has worked for Pierre Perrault
(Cornouailles, La grande allure, La bête
lumineuse), and several other directors, among which Pierre Falardeau
(Le Steak), Robert Morin, Michel Poulette, etc. A longtime
director of photography for Pierre (PIGNON SUR RUE III, MÉTIER
POLICIER, CIEL! MON PINARD), Martin is PLEIN SUDs
first cameraman. In television as in movie-making, harmonious relations
between people often lay the foundations for good image quality. The
cameraman gives substance, light and shade to the vision Pierre dreamed
about and wrote
a vision that is now being shot by Martin. Aided
by his 26 years of experience (Les Avironneuses, ONF, his first
feature in 1975) as much as by his creative, on-the-watch intuition,
Martin accentuates an angle, emphasizes atmospheres, closes in on an
encounter, and picks up imparted secrets. Not to mention that Martin
is also Félixs son
Working freelance in films (Art of War, Possible World,
The Sum of all Fears) and television for the past 5 years,
Jean-François took many jobs on the sets where he learned his
trade. Second cameraman on this series, Jean-François must leave
behind his girlfriend, Sophie, who also works in film and television.
They will surely miss each other, although they both know what kind
of sacrifices this type of work requires. Jean-François is always
available and ready to lend a hand to his coworkers, be it on the set
... or on the road!
Hélène
Veillette / assistant director
"Les hommes et les femmes vivent le voyage différemment.
Madeleine et moi, étant des femmes, nous allons sûrement
le vivre d'une façon qui se resssemble plus."
Hélène has been studying medicine for two and a half
years at lUniversité Laval. PLEIN SUD, the southern
journey offers her the chance to examine medicine out in the
wilds; a kind of training course in emergency medical care if you will.
Hélène is sweet, discreet, meticulous, conscientious,
the perfect «doc»! She is also the ideal assistant director.
Among her tasks, Hélène will have to keep track of timing,
set up the schedule, notice the in-frame order of entrances and exits
of each one of the guests. Without forgetting Madeleine and Réginald,
of course! Hélène will also have to make sure all the
shots and objects are in continuity
and quickly respond to the
hurried requests of the director

Marc-Antoine Benoît / logistics supervisor and web site cameraman
"Afin de ne pas diviser mes énergies, je vis un projet
à la fois. Là, c'est PLEIN SUD. Par contre, jamais je
ne laisserai tomber qui que ce soit parce que je suis dans un projet."
A tourist guide who knows Central and South America very well, Marc-Antoine
was the one who planned out the logistics of PLEIN SUD, the
southern journey. Actually, Marc-Antoine also studied in cinema!
He will thus be the eye and ear of the web site camera for PLEIN
SUD. Thanks to him, you will be able to have a look at the
other side of the mirror... and of the camera.
When hes not busy working on location as canteen-keeper, Marc-André
is a chef. This time, he traded in his oven for an Indiana Jones fedora.
For him, this is a great opportunity to gather original recipes from
far-off regions. To discover the customs of small towns, their traditional
or exotic preparations, is indeed a privilege. Marc-André looks
forward to sample completely original, new-style cuisine that has never
been published before in recipe books. For Marc-André, studying
new techniques to cook, fry, braise, sauté and marinate foods
is an unprecedented experience matched only by the thrill to learn to
spice, flavor and blend together ingredients for a unique taste. If
I were you, I would seek out the restaurant Marc-André works
at when he returns...
Bernard
Cousin and fourth musketeer of the 3 other Larivière. Benefiting
from an international training course granted by the International Intern
Program for Canadian Youth 2001-2001 of the ACPFT, Bernard enjoys his
first experience in television! Assistant to Jean-François, Bernard
is responsible for the editing material and for taking down the sets...
and the camping equipment. On many levels, everything is new to him,
but his taste for adventure and curiosity for the unknown win the day.
Unlike the other members of the crew, Bernard doesnt leave anyone
behind. During this great journey, will Bernard, a 26-year-old bachelor,
find himself in the midst of a more intimate, two-way adventure ?...
