Madeleine Poulin / journalist and reporter
Recipient of the prestigious Judith Jasmin award for outstanding journalism
and of a Gémeaux for television, Madeleine Poulin worked at the
Société Radio-Canada from 1970 to 1997, where she was
alternately:
- writer, reporter, newscaster for the Téléjournal;
- parliamentary correspondent, first in Ottawa, then in Paris;
- reporter and co-host for Le Point, the networks leading
current affairs program;
- writer and host/anchorwoman for the weekly program Le Point
Médias.
During the course of her career, Madeleine has traveled the world over
and met many heads of states and other prominent personages. Among her
travels:
- America : Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Panama, Peru;
- Europe : Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania,
the United Kingdom, Russia, Yugoslavia;
- Middle East : Algeria, Iran, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey;
- Asia : Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam;
- Africa :the Ivory Coast, Kenya;
- not to mention Afghanistan, Pakistan and
the Philippines.
In 1997, Madeleine Poulin became a freelance journalist working for
networks such as Canal D and TV5. These days, she also acts as an ambassador
for UNICEF Quebec. What is interesting to know about Madeleine is that
she just came back from Asia, where she traveled for two and a half
months
strapped with only her knapsack!
